HOPE, AR – The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana is pleased to announce the Iron Horses Shooting Sports Team recently competed in the National Shooting Competition in San Antonio, Texas. Representing the college from left to right is Coach Chris Townsend and team members Lindsey Braden, Matthew Hall, Hunter Page, Clint Park, and Hayden Hamilton. The team competed in skeet, international skeet, trap, international trap, 5-stand, and sporting clays. The members set several personal records and did well over all. In trap competition, the team placed 19 out of 41 teams and outperformed teams from much larger institutions like U of A Fayetteville and the United States Naval Academy team to name a few.
Clint Park said, “It was a great experience to compete at this level and represent the college. I even shared the experience in a recent speech assignment and encouraged my classmates to try-out next year.” The Team will also compete in the Arkansas Collegiate Shoot in Tillar, Arkansas.
