Juanita Jackson and Bubba Powers of the Southwest Arkansas Counseling and Mental Health Center talked to the Nashville Rotary club on Wednesday. Jackson, the Howard Co. Youth Service Case Manager and Certified Juvenile Probation Officer, has been working for about 36 years assisting youth and families that are having problems. The goal of the Youth Services Program is to reduce juvenile delinquency. Jackson said she also services high-risk youth that can be referrals from Juvenile Court, but that referrals may come from any source. She works closely with county schools and offers counseling and court services. The program also involves parents and works to get to the root of the problem. Youth Services provides community services, intensive supervision and tracking, drug screening and electronic monitoring among other sanction services in an eight county area, served by the program. Jackson also introduced Youth Director Powers. For more information, you can reach Jackson's office at 870-845-7527.
