The Hope Noon Lions Club packed and distributed around 140 Christmas baskets Monday December 19th. The baskets are given to needy families. Some of the families apply at the Chamber of Commerce and some of the families are submitted by Lions members. Lions delivered the basket as far away as McCaskill and as far south as near Red Lake in southern Hempstead County. The funds for the distribution are raised during the annual Lions Christmas Auction held the first weekend in December. All the items in the baskets are purchased from Hope merchants. The club appreciates the communtiry for their support in this endeavor and the kindness of Hope and area merchants in donating items for the auction which funds the distribution.
