The Hope Kiwanis Club had a very memorable program on Tuesday September 29th when one of their own, Kiwanian and Hope Mayor Dennis Ramsey spoke. The mayor spoke about his 38 years on the City Board. HIghlights included efforts of the city in the early 80's to pass a sales tax. That effort was ultimately successful when the board explained exactly what it would be used for. He talked about his step-father, the late Jewell May and his work for the city and also talked about the 2000/2001 ice storm. Mayor Ramsey talked at length of the effort made by the community to save the hospital. The speech drew the complete attention of the club!
