At approximately 2140 hours on March 19, 2017 Deputy Sorensen was dispatched to 3000 West Avenue B in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, he made contact with the 38-year-old female victim She stated that her boyfriend had been harassing her and she wanted him out of the house. She stated that he had been staying there since last summer.
Deputy Sorensen then spoke with the 51-year-old suspect. He stated that he had been in the house when the victim came in fussing at him about calling her too much. He stated that she became irate and called the sheriff’s office at that point. He stated that he had nowhere to go as he has been living there for almost a year.
The victim stated that she was going to go to a friend's house for the night and she didn't care if the boyfriend stayed.
Neither party wanted to pursue charges, Deputy Sorensen found no evidence of a physical altercation or injury. Incident Closed.
On March 20, 2017 at approximately 1559 hours, Deputy Tuberville was dispatched to the 4000 block of Hempstead 3 in reference to a Criminal Mischief call.
Upon my arrival, he made contact with the caller. Who stated she has 40 acres of land for sale in the 400 block of Hempstead 133 after feeding her cow's she made a trip around to Hempstead 133 to check on the property she has for sale.
Caller stated when pulling up to the property she noticed a section of the property was smoking as it had been burning. She stated she got out of her vehicle, and looked around when she noticed that a few acres of her property had the underbrush burnt off.
Caller stated on March 19, 2017 late at night she heard noises coming from outside of her residence, and looked outside and saw people caring flashlights walking around the end of Hempstead 132 and Hempstead 3. Caller stated she did not see a vehicle parked around the area, or which way the people were traveling towards. Caller stated she believed the voices sounded like young people.
Report of Animal Cruelty
On March 20, 2017 at approximately 1631 hours, Deputy Kyle Malone was contacted in reference to animal cruelty.
Reporting party stated that she and her mother were driving towards Millwood Lake from Highway 32 West, and she saw a horse that looked to be in poor condition.
Deputy Malone made contact with the Horses Owner who told him the he has contacted a vet and the vet determined that the horse had been taken care of, it was just old. The other two Horses were determined to be in good health.
Deputy Malone called the reporting party and advised them that the horse is just old, but it is being well taken care of.
On March 20, 2017 at approximately 1956 hours, Deputy Malone was dispatched to Highway 278 West in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, he made contact with a 30-year-old male who was sitting out on the front porch of the residence. The male stated that he and his 30-year-old wife got into an argument because she allowed one of her friends to spank their son. During the argument, the female stated that the male pushed her and she fell in the bathroom. Upon investigation Deputy Malone did not observe any injuries
The female she did not want to press charges, she just wanted to move into her new apartment without any problems.
Deputy Malone gave the female a Laura's card and preformed a Domestic Violence Lethality screening, he Informed her that she could go stay at Hope in Action until her new apartment was ready, and that the information for Hope in Action is on the back of the Laura's card. Anita stated that she would call Hope in Action while she was at work tonight.
Financial Identity Fraud
At approximately 0948 hours on 03/21/17 Sgt. Jim Bush was dispatched to the Hempstead County Sheriff Office lobby in reference to Financial Identity Fraud.
Upon my arrival, he made contact with the victim who stated that he is in the process of getting a divorce. He stated that after him and his soon to be Ex-Wife separated she without his knowledge applied for a Master Credit Card under his name. He stated that she has since charged around $400-$500 to the card. He stated that she told him in a phone conversation that she used his card to buy something and he asked her what she was talking about and she told him she got a card under his name. Victim stated that he does not want to pursue charges and only wants to report it so he can report this to the Master Card Fraud Department to have them close the account.
Theft of Property
At approximately 1222 hours on 03/21/17 Sgt. Jim Bush was dispatched to Highway 278 West in reference to a theft.
Upon my arrival, he made contact with the reporting party who stated that his land lord took his cats and will not return them. He stated that she is mad because she had some work done on her house and the cats got foot prints in her concrete. Reporting party stated that there are only two cats that he is worried about one was in a cage under her car port and the other is a black one that she already hauled off somewhere. Reporting party stated that he didn't want to pursue any charges and that he only wants those two cats back.
Sgt. Bush then made contact with the landlord who stated that the cats were causing her problems and left foot prints in the concrete she had them taken to a hay barn that belongs to a friend of hers.
Sgt. Bush told the landlord that the reporting party only wanted two of the cats back and that was the one under the carport and a black one that she has already had taken to the barn. The Landlord allowed the man to take the cat she had and stated that she would return the black cat as soon as she can get it caught.
On 3-21-17 a 55-year-old male victim came to the sheriff’s office to report harassment. Inv. Josh Powell took the report.
Victim stated that he has a cell phone that he keeps in case he needs to call 911. Victim said that he has not had that phone active in a year or so. About six months ago victim received a notification on the phone. He looked at the phone and went into the gallery that contains pictures he saw nude pictures with drugs around a person Victim said all the pictures were of men.
The last time he received a picture was about a month ago. Victim said that he has been working and has not been able to take off to come to report this.
Victim showed Inv. Powell his phone and said that he could look at the pictures that were stored in it. There were several pictures of his kids, and pictures of a boat and water and taken while driving in a vehicle. Victim said that there were a lot of pictures that were just dark. Victim stated he did not take those and did not know how they got on there. Victim left the phone for examination.
On March 21, 2017 at approximately 1532 hours, Deputy Malone was dispatched to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Hope, Arkansas in reference to one of their Emergency Room patients being involved in an assault.
Upon arrival, he made contact with hospital staff who stated that the patient told them that her boyfriend had beaten her up.
Deputy Malone spoke with the victim a 21-year-old female who stated that at approximately 0100 hours this morning her boyfriend got mad at her, and started hitting her with his fists. Victim stated that she does not remember what her boyfriend was mad about.
Victim stated that she told her boyfriend Identified as Curtis Toliver 21, of Prescott to stop and tried to walk away from him, but he would not let her. She stated that Curtis knocked her out, and she woke up at approximately 1200 hours this afternoon at her residence at 102 East 2nd Street in Blevins, Arkansas. Victim stated that she then called 911, and asked for an ambulance to come to transport her from her residence to Wadley Regional. Deputy Malone asked the victim where Curtis might have gone, and she stated that he lives in Prescott, Arkansas, but could not provide an address.
Deputy Malone observed that the victim’s lips are swollen, and she stated that her right foot is broken. Deputy Malone’s investigation revealed that Curtis Toliver, has a Warrant for Hempstead County. Nevada County was informed of Toliver’s address and that Hempstead County had an active warrant as well as pending charges in this incident. Matter is under investigation.
The Suspect Curtis Toliver is described as a 21-year-old black male 5’6” 140 pounds, he is wanted in connected with this incident if anyone has information as to Toliver’s whereabouts please contact the HCSO or local law enforcement.
On March 21, 2017 at approximately 1945 hours, Deputy Tuberville was dispatched to the 4600 block of Hempstead 3 in reference to a motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, he made contact with Michael Moore. Michael stated he was traveling South on Hempstead 3, when he noticed a vehicle stopped at the stop sign on Hempstead 132 East. Michael stated he started to stop, when all four tires on his 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer locked up. Michael stated he tried to regain control of his vehicle as it begins to skid across the North bound lane of Hempstead 3 coming to rest in the ditch.
Deputy Kyle Malone made contact with property owner at 4574 Hempstead 3. Deputy Malone advised the owner that Michael had ran off the road, and ended up in the ditch on his property.
Moore was issued a citation for No Proof of Insurance, failure to pay registration with a court date of April 3, 2017 at 0900 hours at the Hempstead County Court House.
On March 22, 2017 at approximately 0151 hours, Deputy Tuberville was dispatched to the 500 block of Hempstead 23 in reference to a vehicle fire.
Upon arrival, he made contact with Frankie DeVenny. Frankie stated he was traveling South on Hempstead 23 towards Hope, when coming up on a curve he noticed a amber glow. Frankie stated when rounding the crave he saw an unknown make or model vehicle on fire in the middle of the road. Frankie stated he did not find anyone around the vehicle, and when he arrived at the vehicle the cab of the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.
Deputy Tuberville was able to get the Arkansas tag number of 838 UOI off of the vehicle, and ran the tag through dispatch. Dispatch advised me the 838 UOI returned to a 2016 white Ford F-250 belonging to a Randy Fatherree of Nashville Arkansas.
Deputy Tuberville made contact with Randy Fatherree at 205 Pine Creek Road. Randy stated he left the vehicle at his shop in Mineral Springs, Arkansas at approximately 2030 hours. Randy stated the truck was unlocked, and he had both sets of keys. Randy stated he made contact with the Howard County Sheriff's Office to report the vehicle stolen from his shop in Howard County.
The vehicle was a complete loss.
At approximately 1340 hours on 03/22/17 Sgt. Bush was dispatched to the Allen Ferry Landing in reference to a breaking or entering.
Upon arrival, he made contact with Kenneth Perry. Kenneth stated that last night while driving on Highway 355 South he got a flat tire and decided to drive it to the parking at the end of Allen Ferry Road to park it so it would not get towed. He stated that he left his 1995 Jeep Cherokee there at approximately 2000 hours and then returned to get it at approximately 1330.
Kenneth stated that someone stole both front tires and rims. He stated that the rims were stock rims and the tires were Dextero brand tires. He stated that they also pulled the hood open and stole the Everlast car battery and floor jack that he had the Jeep lifted up on when he left it. Kenneth also stated that they damaged the ignition and when they set the car down on a stump they caused $900 worth of damage to the front end.
Theft of Property
On March 22, 2017 at approximately 1551 hours, Deputy Loe made contact with Donna Smith in reference to stolen dogs.
Donna stated that she normally lets her dogs roam around the area when she lets them out to use the bathroom. Donna stated that at the most, the dogs will wander around for a few days before returning to her residence. Donna stated that she has not seen her dogs since Friday March 17, 2017 when she let them outside. Donna stated that she didn't have any idea who might have taken the dogs, but that she believes somebody might have taken them for dog fighting.
At approximately 1635 hours on March 22, 2017 Deputy Sorensen was dispatched to 4120 Hempstead 21 in reference to a medical emergency.
Upon arrival, he made contact with the caller. Who stated that she had just been released from the hospital for pneumonia this morning? Deputy Sorensen stayed with the caller until Pafford EMS transported the caller to Saint Michael in Texarkana.
Sexual Misconduct 4th Degree
On March 22, 2017 at approximately 1830 hours, Deputy Loe was contacted by Officer Justin Dean of the Hope Police Department stating they were out with a subject who wanted to report a crime that happened in the county.
Deputy Loe made contact with the parents of a 14-year-old female who stated that they had learned their daughter, had snuck out of the house the night prior to meet up with 17-year-old male, who then talked her into having sexual intercourse outside of his truck at an address off Hempstead County Road 7.
The incident is under investigation by the HCSO.
At approximately 0003 hours on March 23, 2017 Deputy Sorensen was dispatched to 659 Hempstead 56 in reference to a suspicious person.
Upon arrival, he made contact with Judy Evans. She stated that she didn't see anyone but she thought she heard a voice so she wanted a deputy to come and walk around her house. Deputy Sorensen then walked around the house but was unable to locate anyone or any sign of anyone having been there.
