The Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commence and the Hempstead County Economic Development Corporation held a joint ribbon-cutting and ground breaking for the project to rebuild County Road 278 which runs in front of Tyson. The road has been a problem for at least twenty-five years and the Tyson officials are pleased the project is coming to fruition. The project will cost about $600,000. The EDC is contributing to the project. It was a day of celebration at Hempstead County's largest employer. Prior to the outside events Dr. Lester Sitzes III of the EDC, Tyson Complex Manager Randy King, and Hempstead County Judge Haskell Morse spoke during a ceremony inside the Tyson offices.
