The Patmos Church of Christ will hold their fall gospel meeting September 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. Nick Perry will speak at the Friday service at 7pm and John Bryant will speak at the 7pm service Saturday. Cris May will speak Sunday at 100am for Bible Class and the 10:55am worship. The American Legion National staff along with Arkansas State leadership will be starting a new post in Lafayette County on September 23rd at the Lafayette County High School in Stamps from 10am - 12pm. A service Officer will be in attendance to assist with claims and benefits issues. All veterans and their families are welcome to attend.

Rainbow of Challenges will hold a job fair and hiring event Saturday September 23rd 10am until 2pm at the administration building cafeteria at 500 South Main in Hope. The Nevada County Library will hold a book signing for "Restoring the Wells of Praise", a new book by Georgia Estes. The book attempts to show believers how they can praise God even when there is sickness, death, poverty, and other such blockages in their "wells of praise". The book signing will be Saturday September 23rd from 1:30pm to 3pm at the Prescott/Nevada County Library at 121 West Main in Prescott. Tea and cookies will be served.

The 73rd annual Southwest Arkansas Fair and Rodeo Parade will begin at 6pm Tuesday September 26th at 6th and Elm. Pre-registration is required. All parade participants must pre-register by noon Tuesday September 26th, this is for all entries whether judged or not. Pre-register by calling 777-6772 weekdays from 8am until 5pm. All judged entrants must come by the green Brazzel tent at 6th and Elm to pick up your number by 4:30pm. All horses must be checked in by 5:45 at the green Brazzel tent on South Elm behind Main Street Cleaners and Domino's. All horses must show proof of a current Coggins Test. No candy may be thrown, no loud music, and no 3 or 4 wheelers. The theme is "Lost In the 50's".

The Hope Public Schools and UAHT will hold a joint meeting of the school board and the college board of visitors Thursday September 28th at 6pm to creat a convertion charter high school for grades 10 through 12 on the U of A Hope campus. The meeting is open to the public and will be held in the Johnny Rapert Library Auditorium on the U of A Hope campus.

The Hempstead County Health Unit will give flu shots Friday October 6th from 9am until 5pm at Hempstead Hall. The staff can come out to your car and you can call 703-8032 to let them know you need that service. Everyone is encouraged to wear short sleeve shirts. Bring your meidcaid, medicare, or any type of insurance card you have. There is no out of pocket cost to anyone regardless is you have insurance or not. Ages 6 months and older are eligible for the flu vaccine.
Friday October 13th is movie night at Hempstead Hall. "The Emoji Movie" will be shown at 6:30pm. Cost is $4 for all ages. Refreshments will be available.
