The Arkansas Department of Health will have vital records services in all local county health units soon. In the meantime, 15 counties are now offering same-day, in-person requests for birth certificates and death certificates. This includes the Hempstead County Health Unit in Hope. The Hempstead County Health Unit is the only health unit in Southwest Arkansas offering this service.

The Hope Police Department will participate in a 6 state initiative called "Driving High...kiss your license goodbye". Police will be working extra hours to locate drivers impaired by drugs and alcohol April 20th thru 22nd.

Rainbow of Challenges will hold its 6th annual "ROCFEST" May 25th from 2pm to 6pm at Fair Park behind the tennis courts. This is for all youth 12 and under. There will be food, games, prizes, bounce houses, music, and fun. Tickets are 25 cents each or 5 for $1 for games and face painting. Armbands are $5 each and include the bounce houses, rock wall, bungee run, and sticky wall.
