The Hope Kiwanis Club will hold its annual pancake dinner Friday, September 3rd prior to the Hope/Nashville game.  The dinner is set for 4:30pm to 7pm in the Hope High Cafeteria.  Tickets are available from Kiwanian and at the door.

The monthly singing at Okay Community Baptist Church near Saratoga is Friday, September 3, starting at 6:30 p.m. There will be a potluck supper. For directions and information call 870-388-9200.

The deadline for youth football, soccer, and cheerleading is Friday September 3rd.  Sign up forms are available at the Fair Park office.

The city of Hope public works will be closed September 6th in observance of Labor Day.  Commercial trash routes run as normal.  There will be no residential trash pick up on Monday September 6th.  Monday's trash will be picked up Tuesday and Tuesday's will be picked up Wednesday.  There will be no limb or rubbish pick-up.  The landfill will also be closed Monday September 6th.

Hope Water & Light will be closed Monday September 6th for Labor Day.

The 25th annual Hempstead County Fair is set for September 6th thorough 11th at Hope's Fair Park.  Livestock check-in is set for 6pm Tuesday September 7th.  Other events include a Lions Club Fish Fry Thursday September 9th from 4:30pm to 7pm, the Livestock Premium Lunch & Sale Friday September 10th beginning at 11:30am, and a cooking competition and dinner Saturday September 11th.  Also, a Southwest Arkansas High School Rodeo is set for noon on September 11th.  For information contact Fair Board President Don Honea.

The Chamber Coffee on Wednesday September 8th will be hosted by the Hempstead County Fair Board.  The Coffee is set for 9:30am until 11am at the Chamber office.

Historic Washington State Park will hold its "Fall Frontier Encampment" Thursday September 9th through Saturday September 11th from 9am until 4pm each day.  The event is free and is the annual reunion for the Arkansas Reenactors Assocoation.  For information phone 983-2684.

Friday Sept 10th from 3:30 till 7:30Pm there will be a FREE Healthy Aging Jamboree hosted at Courtyard Gardens Health and Rehabilitation in Arkadelphia. Enhance your spiritual health by listening to Gospel entertainers beginning at 5 pm. Sharpen your mental health by playing games like "shake, rattle and roll" or bean bag baseball. Improve your physical health by visiting numerous information tables and enjoy an art gallery showing resident's and employee's art work starting at 3:30 pm. Free G.E.D. Night Classes will be offered at the Garland Learning Center beginning September 14th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm.  The instructor will be Charles George.  Garland is located at 601 West 6th.  For information phone 722-2744.

The "Women of Hope" will hold their 2nd annual Christian Conference September 17th and 18th at the First Baptist Church Gym & Fellowship Hall at 3rd and Main.  For information contact Phyllis Stroghter.

Historic Washington State Park will present "Trial By Jury" September 25th at 6pm.  The event  includes dinner at Williams Tavern.  Admission is $25 for adults and $20 for children under 14.  For reservations or information phone 983-2684.

Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department will hold a bar b que dinner Saturday October 9th at 6pm at the fire station on Highway 73 west.  There will also be a baked goods auction and the public is invited.

 


Central Baptist Church in Prescott hosts Awana every Wednesday night from 6:30 - 8:00. The programs are free and for kids Pre-K - 12th grade. Come be a part of what God is doing in Prescott!   If you have any questions feel free to call the church office (870) 887.5031.

The First Presbyterian Church of Prescott is issuing commodities the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. in the basement of the church. Everyone is welcome to receive these commodities.
